I know what all the NVC er minds are thinking

“Giraffes don´t rebel"

It´s a quote from Marshall Rosenberg, the founder of Non violant communication, mostly refering to our human tendencies to get defensive and rebel whenever somebody expresses a need to us. We want autonomy, we want self expression, we want to be free. “Nobody is gonna tell me what I can and can´t do!”

That´s not the kind of rebellion I mean, with my page name.

As much as I love NVC ( been doing it for 5 years and I´m not quitting ), with my experience I’ve seen how our traumatized and emotionally unstable tendencies can hinder this beautiful communication process. We are still raised and living in a culture which fosters domination, codependency, narcissism, manipulation and misattunement. We default to shaming, blaming and guiltripping. We are terrible listeners. The more I learn another way, the harder it becomes to function in a world where we don´t value authentic and empathic communication. We suck at it. Even giraffes; I´m not an exception.

I´m here to shine a light on the communication. What pitfalls there can be. How different tendencies and human complexities can make the process look like something else, other than what it was suppose to foster

It´s gonna be triggering, but I’m not here to please. I’m here to self express. To point out the pink elephant.
